How to get there
The canyon is located near the village of Ota, in the municipality of Alenquer, about 50 km from Lisbon.
By car
Directions from the A1 / nearest exit. Park in the lot near the start of the trails and continue on foot.
Public transport
Lines and stops to be confirmed.
Prepare yourself
Footwear
Wear closed shoes with good grip: there are sections of stone that may be slippery.
Water and shade
There are no drinking water points along the trail. In summer, prefer the early hours of the morning.
Mobile network
Coverage may fail at the bottom of the valley. Inform someone of your route.
Safety. Do not approach the edge of the cliffs or enter rock shelters or cavities. In case of emergency, call 112. During periods of high fire risk, access may be restricted.
